Browse Panoramas

The best way to help students learn about an ecosystem is to take them into the field, so that they can experience the ecosystem themselves. Since most students do not get to visit rainforests, deserts, and all the ecosystem types between those extremes, we are bringing 360° interactive panoramas to students, to help them better understand ecological variation on our planet.

This page gives access to all of our panoramas. You can search for them by 1) Biome/Ecosystem Type, 2) Location, or 3) the Ecological Phenomena they depict. When you get to an individual panorama page, you can download it ("Get Panorama & Text") or view it within your browser ("View Panorama"). Some panoramas include sounds that were recorded when it was photographed; if there is a sound version, you will be asked which version you want after you click on the "Get Panorama & Text" button.

We recommend that you and your students try comparing different types of ecosystems (such as deserts and forests) as well as comparing similar ecosystems from different locations (such as rainforests from different continents). Enjoy!
