Vultures in flight, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. There are quite a number of vulture species and a very impressive number of individual vultures in the Serengeti. On the other hand, given how much herbivore biomass is out on the plains, it may not be so surprising that the region can support so many scavengers and such a variety of scavengers.
